How does the 'buy on line' system work?

The 'buy on line' system allows you to purchase a set of entry codes which will allow you to enter the Profiling for Success assessment area on this site and take a specific set of on-line tests or questionnaires. After you have taken each test, a report describing your test results will be sent to you by e-mail. You can order as many assessments as you like and you can complete them whenever you like.

What kind of tests and questions can I take?

The Profiling for Success psychometric assessments cover a wide range of tests and questionnaires of the sort that are used in employee selection and development. They include ability and reasoning tests (eg: numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning), personality questionnaires (eg: 'type indicator' questionnaires), questionnaires which will help you find what kind of work you might be interested in doing plus a variety of other more specific psychometric instruments.

Will I be able to talk the test results through with a psychometrics expert?

The reports are stand-alone and will provide some detailed information about you. You may find, however, once you’ve taken the tests, that you’d like a more in-depth one-to-one session with a trained psychometrics expert who has experience of using these assessments in career transition. Will the tests run on my computer?

The Profiling for Success tests have been developed using Macromedia Flash. They will run on most modern PC or Macintosh computers. You need to have Internet Explorer Version 5 or above and also the Macromedia Flash player Version 5 or above installed. The Flash player should already be installed on most recently purchased computers or you may have already downloaded it while visiting other sites. Install the latest version of the Flash player.

Do I need an e-mail address to receive reports?

Yes. You will be asked to enter an e-mail address to which reports of your results on the tests or questionnaires will be sent. Reports cannot be sent by post. If you do not have your own e-mail address, you can provide the address of a friend or colleague to whom they will be sent.

Since the reports will be sent as HTML attachments, it is important that your e-mail software, anti-virus software or network systems are not set up to prevent the reception of HTML files as attachments. Test to check if your e-mail adddress can receive our reports.

Note for Hotmail users

The reports will be sent as attachments in an e-mail. If you use a Hotmail address, you should be aware that there are often problems with downloading attachments using Hotmail. This appears to be a general problem with Hotmail accounts and does not just affect Profiling for Success reports.
